I am looking for a partner or two to bring my magazine to where it needs to be.  I have found that one person can scratch the surface but that's about it.  I have been publishing this print magazine for the last 2 years and have no plans to stop publishing it, however, would love to make it better and more profitable with the right partner/partners.

Desirable traits in partner/partners:

-Business know-hows -Art know-hows, Time to Commit, Vision to the Project, Graphic Design and possible writing skills, Possible experience in management, Possible Sales Experience

Looking for artist mentor for HS student Posted 11/15/2009

I am a freshman at RMSEL (Rocky Mountain School of Expeditionary Learning). I am doing a two-week intense study in visual art, a program called mini challenges that allows us to study something we are passionate about.

I am looking for an artist, group of artists, and/or a gallery owner willing to mentor me for a couple of hours per day during a two week period in February 2010. This could involve working in your shop in exchange for experience in the art world/studio... (I'm open to ideas). I can come to you during the day hours and will provide payment for supplies and some fees for any art training.

I love multimedia, sculpture, combining textures and colors and much more. I have been sketching all my life and want to improve my skills, learn from working artists, and find out what media types I am most interested in.

The result of my two weeks will be presented at a showcase with my school. I will need to prepare a final product, a written reflection, a documentation board and an oral presention.

Please e-mail me if you might be available and I will call you to discuss.

Thank you very much.

I need space.... Posted 09/22/2009

I have outgrown my garage area and need space for a studio. I need something I can build a permanent Green Screen in. I do 90% Chroma Key work for the web. I don't have a lot of $$ but can afford $200 per month, so I am looking to either share space with someone or maybe a business that has extra warehouse type space & would be willing to trade for services. I can help them market & separate themselves from the competition.

Any ideas or help is appreciated.

Thanks, Steve

SPEED-THE-PLOW at THE BUG seeks guerilla marketers Posted 08/09/2009

SPEED-THE-PLOW, David Mamet's scathingly hilarious play about Hollywood producers sacrificing Art on the altar of Commerce, opens AUGUST 28 at the BUG THEATRE  (3654 Navajo St., across from Pirate Gallery and next to Edge Gallery).

Spontaneous street art all over denver trumpeting this fact in irreverent, humorous fashion highly encouraged.  Art is kind of pro-bono anyway, right?  Make something.

There is also another session June 30 from 3:30 - 5:30 if you are available, but it is really saturday that we need most help with.

the project is hosted at Access Gallery (http://www.accessgallery.com) in the santa fe arts district.

Contact Elysia at 720.257.4619 or the gallery if you would like to help.

Looking for studio space to share Posted 04/09/2009

I'm looking to expand into larger scale works (painting/wood scuplture) and thus need some additional space.  Preferably within downtown/west denver.   I only work a few random week-day evenings and an occasional Saturday or Sunday a month.  A collective group space would be preferable - definitely interested in connecting with fellow artists.

Thanks!

Partner(s) in Street Theatre Desired Posted 04/02/2009

Street Theatre, or what you may know as Performance Art, can happen in any public space at any time, depending on our interests, schedule, etc., simply out of a need for self-expression. One person defined it as, "Random acts of the abnormal dropped into everyday life." For example: a short anti-war piece could use set military movements along with political slogans spoken at certain times as a piece of theatre done in public, or an art piece might incorporate quotes out of literature or short poems, or to shock, arguments on controversial topics, or? The only limits are imaginations and guts. I myself have a background in dance, theatre, writing, some multimedia, etc. Unfortunately, I’ve got Fibromyalgia, which limits what I can do (and when) though love creativity and good collaboration.
